We’ve turned to TikTok for a look at 2020 life, a time when the abbreviation for work from home, WFH, became as much a household term as PB&J (which is fitting, because many of us are not just WFH, but also short order cooks between Zoom calls.)
Every year something takes the globe by storm, spurring additions to the dictionary (we stan) and exhaustive memes.
This year it turned out to be COVID-19 and the way it changed everyone’s reality.
- You’ve read about it.
- It’s weighed on you, literally.
- You’ve worried about it.
- Raged about it.
- You’ve also learned from it.
Even as COVID-19 impacted our lives, it’s also demonstrated that in the midst of a world-changing event, some things never change.
If you’re reading this, you can probably relate to some, if not all, of the below TikToks in this video:
We are who we are
COVID won’t last forever and many of us will one day return to an office environment.
There’s both solace and frustration in knowing that some things won’t ever change. The thing about 2020 is it’s also shown us how resilient we are and that our capacity to adapt is greater than we ever believed possible.
As we prepare to turn the page, or more aptly, as we look forward to torching our 202o calendars and starting a new year, don’t lose your sense of humor.
Oh, and for goodness sake, make sure your camera is turned off!
