In the construction industry, personal protective equipment (PPE) inspection and compliance isn’t just about checking boxes—it’s about making sure workers have the safest environment possible in order to get projects done, on time and on budget.

“Our workers had to wait in line from 45 minutes to an hour because we write the name of each worker and entry time by hand on a clipboard. With 300 workers on site, human errors and long delays were inevitable,” said Adriana Martinez, a Civil Engineer and Site Supervisor at IDEI who’s supervising the high-rise construction project.

“Our old manual process created multiple pain points, including our supervisors struggling to verify PPE compliance by visual inspection, our workers losing up to an hour of productive time every day, and insurance documentation needing to be checked manually, creating even more slowdowns,” she added.

Now, AI reduces worker check-in time from minutes to seconds. Featuring an iPad-like tablet with a digital camera that’s linked to their ERP system and back office software, the solution made an immediate impact after a straightforward installation.

The process now takes about 10 seconds instead of four to five minutes per worker,” Martinez said. “With 300 workers entering the jobsite each day, that amplifies to a massive amount of time saved every single day.”
