There’s no question in our minds that mobile is the trend for 2013 and 2014. When we attended IRCE 2013 in Chicago, everywhere we turned we heard more talk about integrating mobile into an omnichannel strategy.

This infographic from GO Gulf illustrates how more and more brands are pouring dollars into mobile advertising.

Here are highlights on mobile advertising:

  • By 2016, the global spend on mobile advertising will be around $36 billion. Fast forward to 2020 and the figure is $223 billion U.S. dollars, with forecast of it surpassing 339 billion dollars by 2023.
  • 22.7 percent of consumers visited a mobile site in December 2012, nearly double the number of those who did so the year before. As of July 2021, according to Oberlo 49.7% of all web visits are mobile.
  • In 2013, mobile commerce transactions will account for 15 percent of all e-commerce sales. During the 2018 holiday season, 40% of all e-commerce purchases were done by mobile devices according to Outerboxdesign.
